Biography
Chi Cheng was born in Sacramento, California, on July 15, 1970. He was an exceptional musician best known as the bassist for the alternative metal band Deftones. Cheng showed an early affinity for music and joined the band in 1988 while still in high school. His dedication and unique talent quickly distinguished him as a core member of the Deftones, contributing significantly to their distinct sound that blended elements of metal, shoegaze, and post-hardcore. The band's debut album, 'Adrenaline,' was released in 1995, marking the beginning of a storied career as they gained popularity in the underground scene. Cheng's rhythmic prowess helped the band establish a dedicated fan base and paved the way for their future success.
