Biography

Gordon Sumner, widely known by his stage name Sting, was born on October 2, 1951, in Wallsend, England. Initially a schoolteacher, he found his passion for music while performing in local bands during the 1960s. His early career began to take shape when he joined the jazz fusion group Last Exit, which served as a significant stepping stone before he formed The Police in 1977. The band's blend of punk rock and reggae established them as one of the foremost acts of the late 1970s and early 1980s, culminating in commercial success and critical acclaim. Their standout albums such as 'Outlandos d'Amour,' 'Reggatta de Blanc,' and 'Synchronicity' solidified Sting's reputation as a unique voice in the music industry.
