Timothy B. Schmit, born on October 30, 1947, in Sacramento, California, is an accomplished American musician best known as the bassist and vocalist of the Eagles. Schmit began his music career in the 1960s, performing with various local bands before joining the band, Poco, in 1969. His time with Poco was marked by his contribution to the band's harmonious sound, highlighted in tracks such as "You Better Think Twice." Schmit's early career established him as a talented musician who embraced the West Coast sound blending rock, country, and folk music, which would influence his future work. In the mid-1970s, Schmit made a significant leap in his career by joining the Eagles, filling in for bassist Randy Meisner.
