Biography
Steven Stapleton, born on February 3, 1957, is a prolific musician and sound artist known for his avant-garde contributions to the experimental music scene. He emerged from the vibrant underground music culture of the UK during the late 1970s. Stapleton's early career was marked by a keen interest in a range of musical styles, which would later inform his unique sonic explorations. He is best known as the founder and mainstay of the influential group Nurse With Wound, a collective that has pushed the boundaries of sound and structure throughout its nearly five-decade history. This group, formed in 1978, laid the groundwork for his diverse artistic endeavors, establishing Stapleton as an innovative pioneer in experimental sound.
