Ozzy Osbourne, born John Michael Osbourne on December 3, 1948, in Birmingham, England, rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath. He began his music career in the late 1960s, joining a local band called Rare Breed before forming Black Sabbath in 1968 with guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward.
