Biography

Neil Finn is an acclaimed New Zealand musician, best known as the frontman of Crowded House and for his work with Split Enz. Born on May 27, 1958, in Te Awamutu, New Zealand, Finn began his musical journey at an early age. He formed his first band in high school and later joined Split Enz in 1977, contributing to the band’s eclectic sound with his distinct voice and songwriting prowess. The band achieved commercial success in the early 1980s with hits like 'I Got You' and 'Message to My Girl', paving the way for Finn's eventual solo career. In 1986, after Split Enz disbanded, Finn founded Crowded House, which became one of the defining bands of the 1990s. Their self-titled debut album in 1986 included the international hit 'Don't Dream It's Over'. The band continued to earn acclaim with follow-up albums such as 'Temple of Low Men' and 'Woodface', solidifying Finn's position as a prominent figure in the music scene.
