Mike Mangini, born on April 18, 1963, is a renowned American drummer known for his incredible speed, technical proficiency, and energetic performance style. Originating from Newton, Massachusetts, Mangini started playing drums at a very young age, displaying prodigious talent that led to his early involvement in school bands and drum corps. His dedication to mastering the art of drumming blossomed into a full-blown career when he attended Berklee College of Music, where he honed his skills and fostered his passion for progressive metal and hard rock. Throughout his career, Mangini has made significant contributions to various bands, beginning with his stint in Annihilator in 1993. Following this, he became a member of Extreme from 1994 to 1996, where he played a crucial role in shaping their rhythm dynamics. In 1998, he briefly joined Mourning Widows, followed by MullMuzzler from 1999 to 2005, where he showcased his capabilities in a more melodic and progressive setting. Mangini was involved with Tribe of Judah between 2000 and 2002 and returned to Annihilator for two more occasions in 2004 and 2007.
