Biography

Lasse Viking, born in Helsinki, Finland, in 1985, began his musical journey at a young age, influenced by the rich local folk traditions and a variety of international genres. His early career was marked by experimentation in different styles, collaborating with local musicians and honing his craft in small venues across the country. By the time he reached his twenties, Lasse had already established himself as a promising talent in the Finnish music scene, drawing attention for his captivating performances and eclectic sound that blended traditional Finnish elements with modern musical influences. In the late 2000s, Lasse gained wider recognition when he joined the iconic band “Nordic Harmonies,” contributing significantly to their acclaimed album “Echoes of the North” released in 2010. This album not only showcased his instrumental prowess but also the lyrical depth he brought to the band’s work. The success of “Nordic Harmonies” led to several awards, including the Finnish Grammy for Best Folk Album. His pedalboard typically features a Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler and a Boss DS-1 Distortion, which he utilizes to enhance his soundscapes.
