He was born in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico, and moved with his family to San Francisco, California, in the early 1960s. Growing up in a musical environment, he was inspired by his elder brother, Carlos Santana, who was rising to fame with his groundbreaking fusion of rock, blues, and Latin music. Jorge's interest in music began at a young age as he became proficient in guitar, influenced by the vibrant music scene surrounding him in the Bay Area. He started performing in local bands while still in school, laying the groundwork for his professional journey. Jorge Santana's professional music career took off in the early 90s. His most notable membership was in the legendary band Santana from 1993 to 1996, where he contributed to their unique sound and energy.
