Biography
John Dolmayan, born on July 15, 1972, in Beirut, Lebanon, is best known as the drummer for the acclaimed rock band System of a Down. His family emigrated to Los Angeles during the Lebanese Civil War, where he was exposed to a diverse range of musical influences from a young age. Dolmayan's early interest in music led him to explore various drumming styles, which would later shape his unique approach. He began drumming at the age of 16, and it was during high school that he formed his first band, eventually taking on numerous gigs around the local Southern California scene, honing his craft and developing his signature sound. His big break came in 1995 when he joined System of a Down, replacing original drummer Andy Khachaturian.
