Jeff Porcaro was born on April 1, 1954, in Hartford, Connecticut, U.S. He is widely recognized as one of the most influential drummers in rock music history. Porcaro's early musical exposure came from his family's background; his father, Joe Porcaro, was a prominent session drummer, and his brothers Steve and Mike would also make their mark in the music industry. Jeff honed his craft in various local bands during his teenage years, eventually moving to Los Angeles where he began to play for several notable acts. His dedication to rhythm and groove set the foundation for a remarkable career ahead. Porcaro's career took off in the mid-1970s when he co-founded the rock band Toto in 1977— a group that would become legendary in its own right.
