Igor Amadeus Cavalera, born on September 4, 1970, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, is a renowned drummer and musician best known for his work in the heavy metal genre. Growing up in a musically inclined family, Igor was heavily influenced by the burgeoning thrash metal scene and the vibrant culture of Brazil. He began playing drums at a young age, drawing inspiration from iconic drummers and quickly developing a unique style that would define his career. His passion for music led him to form the band Sepultura in 1984 with his brother Max Cavalera, where they would go on to shape the sound of Brazilian metal music during the late 1980s and early 1990s. During his time with Sepultura, Cavalera contributed to some of the band's most critically acclaimed albums, including "Beneath the Remains" (1989) and "Roots" (1996).
