Most notably, Winterhalter was a member of Bahrrecht from 2001 to 2013, where he honed his skills and developed a strong stage presence. His next significant venture was with Les Discrets from 2003 to 2013, during which he further explored atmospheric and melodic elements in music. He briefly contributed to Peste Noire between 2006 and 2008, enhancing the band's distinctive style. Since 2009, he has been an integral part of Alcest, a project recognized for its fusion of shoegaze and black metal, pushing the boundaries of modern metal.
