Tom Araya, born on June 6, 1961, in Viña del Mar, Chile, is best known as the lead vocalist and bassist for the iconic American thrash metal band Slayer. Araya's family immigrated to the United States when he was a child, settling in California where he began his musical journey. His passion for music blossomed in his teenage years, exposing him to various genres that eventually shaped his unique sound and style.
