After years of performing in various underground music scenes, his big break came when he joined Symphony X in 1994, marking the start of a successful professional music career. During his tenure with Symphony X from 1994 to 1998, Miller played a crucial role in the band's early development, contributing to their dynamic sound with intricate guitar solos and progressive riffs. The band released several albums that featured a unique mix of power metal and progressive rock. After leaving Symphony X, Miller found a new calling in worship music and joined Gateway Worship in 2003.
