Biography
Rod Stewart, born in North London in 1945, is one of the most enduring voices in rock and pop music. He began his career in the early 1960s, initially joining various bands, including the folk group The Dimensions and later the blues band The Jeff Beck Group. Stewart's distinctive raspy voice and charismatic stage presence quickly garnered attention, leading to his participation in the band Faces in the late 1960s. Their albums 'A Nod Is As Good As a Wink... To a Blind Horse' and 'Ooh La La' cemented their place in rock history, showcasing a blend of rock, folk, and soulful melodies. His time with Faces laid the groundwork for a successful solo career that would take off in the 1970s with hits like 'Maggie May' and 'Reason to Believe'.
