Proof, born DeShaun Dupree Holton on October 2, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan, was an impactful rapper and a key figure in the Detroit hip-hop scene. Beginning his career in the underground rap scene, Proof rose to prominence as a member of the influential group D12 in the late 1990s.
