Posdnuos, born Kelvin Mercer in 1973, is best known as one half of the influential hip-hop duo De La Soul. Growing up in Long Island, New York, Mercer found his passion for music at an early age, often experimenting with different sounds and lyrical styles. His early career was marked by collaborations with fellow artists, contributing to the East Coast hip-hop scene that was rapidly evolving in the late 1980s.
