Born in the vibrant musical landscape of Seattle, Monkey emerged as a dynamic force in the alternative rock scene during the early '90s. He started his journey as a guitarist, honing his skills in local bands before making a name for himself in the burgeoning grunge movement. In 1990, Monkey joined the influential band Gobbledygook, where he played guitar and contributed to the band’s signature sound. Their albums, particularly 'Sonic Bliss' and 'Electric Dream', showcased his innovative guitar work, and the band gained a loyal fanbase during his tenure, lasting until 1995. Following this, he co-founded the band Cogwheel with bassist Jane Doe in 1996. With Cogwheel, he experimented with new sounds and genres, pushing the boundaries of alternative rock. Over the years, the band released several critically acclaimed albums and remains a staple of the genre, known for tracks like 'Automatic' and 'Rewind'. Monkey’s contributions have solidified his status as a key figure in both bands, with his work resonating through the years.
