Biography
Kelly Hansen is an American rock singer best known for his work with the hard rock band Hurricane and for becoming the lead vocalist of Foreigner. Born on March 18, 1961, Hansen developed his musical career in the Los Angeles rock scene during the 1980s, a period defined by technically accomplished guitar bands, melodic songwriting, and the expanding influence of MTV. He emerged as a powerful, high-register vocalist whose style combined the clean projection of classic hard rock with the aggressive attack associated with contemporary metal. Hansen’s early professional work placed him alongside guitarist Robert Sarzo and drummer Tony Cavazo, helping establish Hurricane as one of Southern California’s notable melodic hard rock acts.
