Karen O, born on November 22, 1978, in Seoul, South Korea, and raised in the United States, is a renowned musician, singer, and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the indie rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Her early years were steeped in musical influences, growing up in a household where art was celebrated. After moving to New York City to attend the School of Visual Arts, Karen began to immerse herself in the burgeoning music scene of the early 2000s, eventually forming the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in 2000 alongside guitarist Nick Zinner and drummer Brian Chase. Their explosive live performances and Karen's distinctive style quickly garnered attention, culminating in their debut album, "Fever to Tell" in 2003, which showcased tracks like "Maps" and "Y Control" that would define their sound and propel them to fame.
