Johan Koleberg, born on March 8, 1968, is a Swedish drummer renowned for his powerful, dynamic style and pivotal contributions to the heavy metal genre. Growing up in Sweden, Koleberg was surrounded by a rich tapestry of music that inspired him to take up the drums at an early age. His passion for rhythm and percussion solidified as he honed his skills, performing in various local bands and exploring different musical styles. It was not long before his talent caught the attention of more prominent acts within the Swedish rock scene, paving the way for his future with internationally recognized bands. Koleberg's professional career took off when he joined the Swedish heavy metal band Lion’s Share in 1993. His tenure with Lion’s Share lasted until 2002, during which the band achieved critical acclaim with their hard-hitting sound and impressive live performances. After leaving Lion’s Share, he joined the symphonic metal band Therion in 2008, where he remained until 2016. His drumming became crucial in shaping Therion's sound, especially during their ambitious orchestrations and complex arrangements. In 2016, Koleberg joined HammerFall, one of Sweden's most prominent heavy metal bands, and played with them for a year, contributing to their powerful, melodic sound that has captivated audiences worldwide.
