Biography
Jim James, born in 1978, is an influential American musician and the lead vocalist and guitarist of the Indie rock band My Morning Jacket. Growing up in Louisville, Kentucky, James was introduced to music through his parents, who fostered his passion by encouraging him to play the guitar at an early age. He formed his first band, Montreat, during high school, but it was his collegiate experience at the University of Louisville that truly shaped his artistic direction. In 1998, he founded My Morning Jacket, which soon became a staple in the Indie rock scene. Their blend of rock, country, and psychedelia received critical acclaim and garnered a dedicated fan base, thanks to their unique sound and energetic live performances.
