Guthrie Govan is a renowned British guitarist, born on July 27, 1971, in Chelmsford, Essex. His musical journey began at a young age, heavily influenced by a diverse range of genres. Starting guitar lessons at age 5, Govan quickly became enamored with rock legends like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, alongside jazz guitarists such as John Scofield and Pat Metheny. Educated at the prestigious BIMM (Brighton Institute of Modern Music), he honed his skills, blending technical proficiency with an eclectic musical background that set the stage for his illustrious career. Govan’s major career breakthrough came in the late 1990s when he joined the progressive rock band Asia as their lead guitarist. His work on the album 'Aura' (2001) alongside notable musicians solidified his reputation in rock circles. Following this, he joined the instrumental band The Aristocrats, formed in 2011 with bassist Bryan Beller and drummer Marco Minneman.
