Farrokh Bulsara, widely known as Freddie Mercury, was born on September 5, 1946, in Zanzibar, Tanzania. He spent his early years in India, where he developed a profound love for music. After relocating to England with his family in the early 1960s, Mercury formed his first band, The Hectics, during his school days. His artistic journey took a significant turn when he joined the rock band Smile, where he met guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Although Smile achieved modest success, it was the formation of Queen in 1970 that catapulted Mercury to iconic status in the music world. With his flamboyant stage presence and powerful vocals, he quickly became the band's frontman and creative force behind their unique sound.
