Biography

Dregen, born Andreas Mats Westerlund on April 18, 1973, in UmeƄ, Sweden, is a celebrated guitarist and songwriter known for his dynamic contributions to the hard rock and punk rock scenes. He began his musical journey at an early age, immersed in the vibrant Swedish rock culture. In the late 1980s, he made a name for himself with his explosive guitar skills and charismatic stage presence, which soon led him to co-found the influential band Backyard Babies, marking his entry into the professional music world. As the band's guitarist, Dregen quickly established himself as a prominent figure in the Swedish rock scene, helping to define their sound and aesthetic during the height of the glam rock revival in the 1990s.
