Derek Trucks, born on June 8, 1979, in Jacksonville, Florida, is a renowned slide guitar player and former member of the Allman Brothers Band. He began playing guitar at a young age, influenced by the music of legendary artists like Duane Allman, Eric Clapton, and Muddy Waters. By the age of 11, Trucks was already performing with the likes of Buddy Guy and was recognized as a guitar prodigy. He formed the Derek Trucks Band in the late 1990s, showcasing his talents through their unique fusion of blues, rock, and jazz. His first album, 'Out of Control', released in 1998, set the stage for a career that would see him combine various genres seamlessly throughout his professional journey. The major turning point in Trucks’ career came when he joined the Allman Brothers Band in 1999, eventually becoming a full-time member in 2000. His contributions helped revitalize the band's sound and earned him critical acclaim. Trucks has performed on numerous live albums with the band, including 'An Evening with the Allman Brothers Band: 2nd Set' and 'Hittin' the Note'.
