Smith on May 25, 1973, in Long Beach, California, first captured attention in the 1990s as a member of the influential hip-hop group, Tha Dogg Pound, alongside Kurupt. Their debut album, 'Dogg Food,' released in 1995, was pivotal in the West Coast hip-hop scene, showcasing Daz's lyrical prowess and production skills. The duo quickly gained recognition for their contributions to Dr. Dre's iconic album 'The Chronic' and Snoop Dogg's 'Doggystyle,' cementing their place in the hierarchy of early G-funk music. Dillinger's background in music stemmed from a family immersed in the arts, with his cousin being a prominent member of the group Roger & Zapp, which exposed him to the industry from a young age.
