Biography

Dave Davies, born in 1947 in Muswell Hill, London, is an iconic British musician best known as the lead guitarist and co-founder of the legendary rock band The Kinks. Growing up in a vibrant musical environment, Davies started playing guitar at a young age, influenced by early rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and the burgeoning British rock scene. He formed The Kinks with his brother Ray in 1963, and the band quickly climbed the charts following the release of their breakout hit 'You Really Got Me' in 1964. This song is often credited with defining the power chord sound that became a staple in rock music, showcasing Davies's raw and innovative guitar work that set him apart as a pioneering figure in the genre.
